Entry, Living, and Dining RoomEntryThe custom Vertical Grain Douglas Fir (VGDF) entry doors from TM Cobb have arched divided lites that match the copper-clad front canopy. A two-story foyer extends through double Simpson VGDF French doors to the rear deck. The bright, diffuse light throughout the entry hall comes from two highly energy efficient Kalwall Nanogel skylights, as well as the full height Pella windows. The golden travertine floor is lively, low maintenance, and warmed by the radiant heating system.
A dramatic Brazilian Cherry (Jatoba) staircase surrounds the downstairs steps with a floating curve up to the second floor. Fluted Brazilian Cherry box newels both complement and contrast with the fluted white balusters.
Living RoomThe elegant living room features an arched Mendota gas-log fireplace surrounded by honed Crema Marfil Select marble and topped with a reclaimed Douglas Fir mantelpiece. A row of Pella awning windows bring in abundant natural light and beautiful views of the nearby oak trees. The coffered ceiling with Xenon cove lighting produces a warm diffuse glow for evening entertaining. Artwork on the walls and on the fireplace mantel is highlighted with accent lighting from recessed low voltage halogen lights. Scandian Platinum Brazilian Oak (Amendoim) floors inset with a Brazilian Cherry feature strip complement the wood trim and provide a durable, attractive floor. Four speakers in the ceiling are part of the whole house audio system that can provide either gentle background music or lively party music, depending on the occasion. A hallway to the office wing is defined by a barrel-vaulted ceiling lined with fluted columns. These columns match the stairway newels in style and proportion to bring these public spaces together.
Dining RoomThis formal room with gracious space for entertaining has a coffered ceiling trimmed with Xenon cove lighting and Scandian Platinum Brazilian Oak floors inset with a Brazilian cherry feature strip.
