Kitchen and Family Room

The kitchen, informal dining area, and family room together make a great room, demarcated by separate coffered ceilings with diffuse cove lighting.

Kitchen

This professionally equipped chef’s domain is appointed with American Cherry wood cabinetry, topped with Costa Esmeralda granite, and backsplashes of random set tumbled marble. The oversize island is topped with a single slab of Costa Esmeralda granite. It contains a Sharp microwave drawer, and stainless steel preparation sink with pull-down faucet and disposal. The large Wolf range has two ovens, six burners, gridle, a handy pot filler, and a powerful, stylish Futuro Concorde 48" vent hood. The side-by-side Subzero fridge and freezer provide an enormous amount of space with impecable food preservation. A second Sharp microwave under the cabinets provides convenience without using up counter space. A double drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher is convenient, efficient, and matched to a stainless steel double clean-up sink with pull-down faucet and disposal. A dropped counter serves as a desk with network and video connections, or as an accessible workstation.

Pantry

The pantry has cherry cabinets surrounding a Vinotemp wine cooler. The maple shelving provides abundant storage space and the maple counter is a convenient "appliance hotel" where counter-top appliances can stay plugged in and used in place.

Informal Dining Room

Adjacent the kitchen island is the informal dining, homework, and games table. The generous windows to the east provide bright morning sunshine. This room has four ceiling speakers for the whole house audio system. The Scandian Platinum Brazilian Oak floors complement the cabinetry and window trim.

Family Room

The family room has banks of casement windows overlooking the lawn and rhododendron plantings. It is equiped with ceiling speakers for whole house audio; as well as a 5.1 surround sound speakers and video connections. Simpson Vertical Grain Douglas Fir French doors provide direct access to the patio and lawn on one side, and the redwood deck on the other.
